jbennett@hc-lawfirm.comJennifer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School where she graduated Salutatorian in 1997. After high school, Jennifer went on to attend Vassar College where she received the Dorothy Danforth Comptom Memorial Scholarship and graduated with a degree in International Studies with high honors and departmental distinctions. In her senior year of college, Jennifer was selected as her department intern and inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society.
Jennifer earned her law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia. While studying at W&L, Jennifer participated in a practice internship with the district attorney's office in Wilmington and thereafter made the decision to make coastal North Carolina her permanent home. Jennifer has practiced exclusively in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick and Onslow counties during her years as a domestic law attorney. Jennifer joined Hodges & Coxe as an associate attorney in 2010 and currently practices in the areas of general civil litigation and matrimonial law, focusing on divorce, child custody disputes, establishment and defense of child and spousal support obligations, equitable distribution and marital tort claims. Jennifer is married to husband Travis, a decorated member of the United States Coast Guard.
